The suture is supplied with a taper-point needle, facilitating smooth passage through tissue while minimizing trauma. Its undyed composition allows precise visualization without introducing pigmentation, supporting accurate surgical placement.

The suture material is designed to retain approximately 50% of its tensile strength at two weeks post-implantation and 20% at three weeks, providing controlled support during the early phases of wound healing. Complete absorption occurs within 50 to 90 days, eliminating the need for suture removal and reducing the risk of long-term foreign body reactions.

PolySyn sutures are specially coated to reduce tissue drag, improving handling characteristics and ease of passage through tissue planes.
