Description
ProSure Monitoring System Spore Strip is a biological indicator designed for routine monitoring of sterilization processes. The strip contains viable spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus or Bacillus atrophaeus, depending on the type of sterilization being tested. It provides a highly sensitive and reliable method for assessing the effectiveness of steam, ethylene oxide, or other sterilization cycles.
The spore strip is placed within the sterilizer alongside the standard instrument load. It is subjected to the full sterilization cycle in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. The biological indicator mimics the resistance of the most challenging microorganisms, offering a true measure of sterilization efficacy.
After processing, the strip is placed in the ProSureĀ® Mailer envelope and sent to an authorized testing laboratory for incubation and analysis. The laboratory evaluates the viability of any surviving spores to determine whether the sterilization cycle successfully achieved microbial inactivation.
