PERMA-HAND™ Suture, Black, Size 4-0, 18", P-3 Needle is a nonabsorbable sterile surgical suture composed primarily of silk, an organic protein. This material is derived from the cocoon of the silkworm Bombyx mori and is extensively purified to eliminate natural waxes and gums. The resulting strand is refined to provide superior uniformity and performance in surgical settings.

The suture is coated with a proprietary wax mixture. This coating improves the smoothness of the strand, enhances its handling properties, and reduces tissue drag. The coating is biocompatible and does not compromise the tensile strength of the suture or contribute to undesirable tissue reactions.

Equipped with a P-3 precision reverse cutting needle, this configuration is particularly suited for delicate soft tissue approximation, especially in ophthalmic, plastic, and dermatologic procedures. The black coloration enhances intraoperative visibility, supporting accuracy and control in confined or cosmetically sensitive surgical fields.
