Description

The ETHILON™ Monofilament Suture, Black, Size 8-0, 12", with TG175-8 needle is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of long-chain aliphatic polymers, specifically polyamide (nylon). It is designed for precision in soft tissue approximation where extended tensile strength is desired. The monofilament structure allows for smooth tissue passage with minimal drag and tissue trauma.

This suture is dyed black to provide high contrast against tissue, improving visibility during placement and inspection. The material elicits minimal acute inflammatory response and is encapsulated slowly over time. Its degradation is extremely slow, taking between one to two years, though it generally remains intact indefinitely unless removed.

The TG175-8 needle is a spatula-type needle with a fine gauge and 3/8 circle curvature. It is ideal for microsurgical and ophthalmic procedures, providing delicate control and reliable penetration through fine or dense tissues.
