Description

ETHILON™ Monofilament Suture, Black, Size 2-0, 30", with FSLX Needle, is a nonabsorbable sterile surgical suture composed of long-chain aliphatic polyamide polymer, commonly known as nylon. As a monofilament, it provides a smooth surface for tissue passage, minimal tissue drag, and reduced bacterial adherence compared to braided materials.

This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, where extended wound support is required. It is often used in skin closure, plastic and reconstructive surgeries, orthopedic closures, and other procedures where long-term tensile strength is desired. The material elicits only a mild acute inflammatory response, followed by gradual encapsulation by fibrous connective tissue.

The FSLX needle is a large, reverse cutting needle designed for strong, secure penetration of dense or tough tissues, such as fascia or skin. Its 3/8 circle configuration allows optimal maneuverability in confined surgical fields, reducing the risk of tissue trauma during closure.
