Description

RotaTeq is a 2 ml ready-to-use tube containing a pale yellow clear solution of rotavirus. It is an oral, live pentavalent vaccine containing 5 live reassortant rotaviruses. The strains are isolated from bovine and human sources. The product also contains 34 mg Sodium, 1073 mg sucrose, 10 microgram Glucose, and 0.15 microgram phenylalanine per dose. RotaTeq is a vaccine used to immunize from rotavirus gastroenteritis. The vaccine is for oral use only. The vaccine shall not be mixed with other vaccines or solutions. Also, do not dilute or reconstitute it.

RotaTeq is indicated in children and infants for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis. It is administered in a series of three doses to infants between 6 to 32 weeks of age. Each dose is supplied in a squeezable plastic container or tube with a twist-off cap on the top. The special design of the tube allows direct oral administration to the infant. Store the vaccine at refrigerated temperature i.e., 2° to 8°.
