Description

Lidocaine 2% 10 mL MDV 25Bx is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution used as a local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic agent. It is commonly employed in medical settings for procedures requiring local or regional anesthesia, such as minor surgeries, dental procedures, or diagnostic interventions. In addition, it is used in the management of acute ventricular arrhythmias, particularly in emergency settings or during cardiac resuscitation.

The mechanism of action of lidocaine involves the inhibition of sodium ion influx into nerve cells and cardiac myocytes, which stabilizes neuronal membranes and suppresses the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. In cardiac applications, lidocaine reduces automaticity, suppresses abnormal electrical activity, and shortens the action potential, restoring normal heart rhythms in conditions such as ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation.

The product is supplied in a multi-dose vial containing 2% lidocaine hydrochloride, equivalent to 20 mg/mL of active ingredient. Each vial contains 10 mL of solution, and the package includes 25 vials, making it suitable for multiple uses in clinical settings.
