Jevtana Kit for Injection 60 mg/1.5 mL SDV is an antineoplastic agent used in the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It contains cabazitaxel, a taxane-class chemotherapy drug that inhibits microtubule function, disrupting mitotic cell division and inducing cancer cell apoptosis. Jevtana is administered in combination with prednisone to enhance treatment efficacy and improve patient outcomes.

The formulation is supplied as a single-dose vial (SDV) kit, which includes a vial of cabazitaxel (60 mg/1.5 mL) and a diluent for reconstitution before intravenous administration. The diluent contains polysorbate 80 to aid in solubility and ensure proper dispersion of the active ingredient. The kit presentation ensures accurate dosing and sterility while minimizing handling errors.

Cabazitaxel exhibits its therapeutic effects by stabilizing microtubules, preventing cancer cell division, and promoting programmed cell death. Due to its potent activity, dose adjustments may be required based on patient tolerability and hepatic function. Routine blood monitoring is essential to assess neutropenia risk, a common adverse effect requiring growth factor support in some cases.
