Description

Acetaminophen 325 mg suppositories are a rectal dosage form of the analgesic and antipyretic medication, formulated for patients who cannot take oral medications. Each suppository contains 325 mg of acetaminophen. The rectal route allows for systemic absorption, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, which is beneficial in cases of nausea, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing.

They function by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes in the central nervous system, reducing prostaglandin production, which lowers pain and fever. This mechanism provides relief without the gastrointestinal irritation associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

The product is packaged in a box containing six individually wrapped suppositories to maintain hygiene and stability. They should be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably below 25°C (77°F), to prevent melting. Before administration, hands should be washed, and the suppository should be gently inserted into the rectum while lying on one side.
