Stratafix Spiral PDS Plus Knotless Absorbable Suture is a synthetic, monofilament, antibacterial suture designed for efficient soft tissue approximation. Constructed from polydioxanone, the suture delivers extended tensile strength retention and predictable absorption. It incorporates Irgacare® MP, an antibacterial agent that reduces bacterial colonization on the suture, offering added protection in contaminated or infection-prone surgical sites.

The spiral knotless design features unidirectional barbs along the suture length, eliminating the need for knots and enabling even distribution of tension across the wound. This configuration enhances wound closure efficiency and reduces operative time. The barbs also improve tissue hold and control, maintaining consistent approximation without slippage or loosening during healing.

Stratafix PDS Plus retains approximately 80% of its tensile strength at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. Complete mass absorption occurs within 182 to 238 days, aligning with the prolonged healing process of fascia, muscle, and connective tissues. Its strength profile supports wound stability through the critical early phases of tissue repair.
