Coated VICRYL™ Suture, Size 2-0, 27", Violet, with SH needle, is an absorbable, braided surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910—a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. This synthetic material is designed for reliable wound support during the healing phase, followed by complete absorption through hydrolysis.

The violet color improves visibility during surgical procedures, aiding in accurate placement. The suture is coated with a polyglactin-based compound to reduce tissue drag and enhance handling properties, offering smooth passage and superior knot security. Its braided structure contributes to flexibility, control, and consistent tensile strength retention during early healing.

The SH needle is a 1/2 circle taper point needle, suitable for soft, easily penetrated tissues such as fascia, peritoneum, and subcutaneous layers. This configuration is widely used in general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including gynecologic, gastrointestinal, and urologic surgeries where absorbability and reliable short-term support are required.
