Polysyn 0 Undyed is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of a copolymer of glycolide, dioxanone, and trimethylene carbonate. This suture is designed for secure wound closure while providing a predictable absorption profile. It is undyed to minimize visibility in delicate tissue applications. The sterile strand measures 1X27 inches and is attached to a CT-1 Taper Point needle, which facilitates smooth tissue penetration while reducing trauma.

The suture maintains approximately 50% of its original tensile strength at two weeks post-implantation and retains around 20% at three weeks. This gradual reduction in strength is suitable for tissues that require short-term support before natural healing takes over. Complete mass absorption occurs within 50 to 90 days through hydrolytic degradation, ensuring minimal tissue reaction.

A proprietary coating is applied to the suture to reduce tissue drag, promoting smooth passage through tissue with minimal resistance.
