Polydioxanone (PDO) sutures are synthetic, absorbable monofilament sutures designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation. The Suture, PDO 2-0 Violet 1X27 FS-1 is constructed from polydioxanone polymer, ensuring high tensile strength retention over an extended period. It is designed to provide secure wound support with minimal tissue reaction, making it suitable for a wide range of surgical applications.

This suture retains approximately 80% of its original tensile strength at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. The gradual reduction in tensile strength ensures adequate support for wound healing before absorption begins. The complete mass absorption of the suture occurs between 183 and 238 days, making it ideal for procedures requiring prolonged support without long-term foreign body retention.

The FS-1 needle is a reverse cutting needle, offering enhanced penetration efficiency, particularly in dense or fibrous tissues.
