Suture 4/0 18" MONODERM™ P-3 13 mm is a synthetic absorbable monofilament suture designed for superior handling and minimal tissue reactivity. It offers excellent pliability, enabling smooth passage through tissues with minimal drag, which is essential in delicate procedures. The suture is composed of a polyglycolide-co-caprolactone copolymer, giving it unique physical and chemical stability during the initial wound healing phase.

The suture maintains tensile strength effectively during the early critical stages of healing. At 7 days post-implantation, it retains approximately 42–76% of its original strength. By 14 days, this strength reduces to around 36–52%, and full absorption occurs by approximately 90 days via hydrolysis.

Its application is especially suited for subcuticular closures and soft tissue approximation where long-term tensile strength is not required. The monofilament nature reduces tissue drag and minimizes the risk of harboring bacteria, supporting faster and cleaner healing. It is often preferred in dermatological, gynecological, and plastic surgery applications.
