Antibacterial Vicryl Plus Coated Suture is a braided, undyed absorbable suture designed for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation. The suture incorporates an antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial colonization and reduces the risk of surgical site infections. This suture is composed of polyglactin 910, a synthetic absorbable material known for its reliable handling and predictable absorption profile. 

The suture is equipped with a reverse cutting needle, coded PS-1, which is specifically designed to provide precise and controlled tissue penetration. The needle features a 3/8 circle shape, allowing for optimal maneuverability in delicate or confined surgical fields. The coated braided structure offers excellent tensile strength and secure knot tying properties, essential for maintaining tissue approximation during the healing process.

The antibacterial property of the Vicryl Plus suture has been shown in vitro to create a zone of inhibition against major pathogens commonly associated with postoperative infections. These include Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).
