Description

Narcan (Naloxone Hydrochloride Injection USP, 0.4 mg/mL, 1 mL) is a critical medication used for the emergency treatment of opioid overdose. It is specifically indicated for the rapid reversal of opioid-induced depression, including respiratory depression, caused by natural opioids (such as morphine) and synthetic opioids (including fentanyl and methadone).

Narcan is effective against certain mixed agonist-antagonist analgesics like nalbuphine and pentazocine. This makes it a vital tool in emergency medical settings where opioid overdose is suspected or confirmed.

The injection solution is sterile and intended for single-dose use only. Each 1 mL vial contains Naloxone Hydrochloride with pH adjustment but does not include any bacteriostatic agents or additional buffers. Narcan is packaged in clear, single-dose glass vials with a flip-top cap, facilitating rapid access and administration in emergency situations.
