The kit contains pre-measured, sterile components selected to support aseptic technique and efficient IV initiation.
The kit includes a 1 mL CHLORAPREP® applicator with 2% orange tint, allowing rapid and effective antiseptic preparation of the insertion site. Two 2-inch by 2-inch, 4-ply gauze pads provide absorbency and protection during catheter placement. A blue, textured tourniquet measuring ¾ inch by 18 inches assists with vein distension, improving ease of insertion.
A Tegaderm™ 1614 transparent dressing, 3.375 inches by 2.75 inches, secures the catheter while permitting continuous visual monitoring of the site.
