The Attest™ Biological Indicator (BI) is designed for rapid verification of steam sterilization processes, providing results within one hour when incubated in the 3M Attest Auto-reader 390. The indicator is suitable for use in gravity steam sterilizers operating at 270°F (132°C). The BI is manufactured with precision to ensure accurate monitoring of sterilization efficacy for medical instruments and devices.

The product features a color-coded blue cap for immediate visual identification. A chemical process indicator provides a clear visual cue, changing from rose to brown when the sterilization process has been completed successfully. This allows for quick assessment and enhances workflow efficiency in sterilization departments.

Each BI contains a spore strip enclosed in a vial with growth media. When activated by the steam sterilization process, the spores are exposed to the growth medium, allowing for rapid detection of sterilization failure. The design minimizes handling errors and improves overall reliability of sterilization monitoring protocols.
