The Ethicon SECURESTRAP® Absorbable Strap Fixation Device, Single Use, 5MM, 25 Straps is a specialized surgical instrument designed for reliable mesh fixation in hernia repair procedures. Its spring-loaded deployment system with a lock-out handle ensures precise and controlled placement of absorbable straps, reducing the risk of improper fixation. The device is engineered to deliver secure attachment of surgical mesh during the tissue integration period, supporting stable tissue repair and reducing the potential for mesh migration.

Each device includes 25 synthetic, absorbable dyed straps that utilize two points of fixation to straddle mesh pores and fibers, accommodating a range of mesh constructions, including large-pore designs. The absorbable polymer blend is gradually absorbed over approximately 12 months, allowing the mesh to integrate with surrounding tissue while minimizing long-term foreign material presence.
