Description

Coated VICRYL™ Absorbable Suture, undyed, size 0, 3 x 18" (45 cm), ties configuration, is a synthetic, braided suture composed of a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate to enhance smooth tissue passage and facilitate secure knot tying. The undyed presentation is suitable for internal use where visibility is not essential.

This suture is specifically designed for ligatures and general soft tissue approximation. Its braided structure offers excellent handling characteristics and strong initial knot security, ensuring reliable closure with minimal tissue reaction. The ease of use and predictability make it suitable for a wide range of procedures, including general surgical, gynecological, urological, and ophthalmic applications.

VICRYL™ retains approximately 50% of its original tensile strength by the end of the third week post-implantation, providing sufficient support during the early stages of wound healing. This feature supports soft tissue where moderate-term support is desired without requiring prolonged foreign material presence.
