Qutenza 8% Patch is a prescription topical system containing capsaicin, designed for single-use application. It is utilized for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with conditions such as postherpetic neuralgia or diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Each carton includes one topical system and a 50-gram tube of cleansing gel, intended for use in post-treatment removal of residual capsaicin.

The patch measures 14 cm by 20 cm (280 cm²), with an adhesive layer that contains the active ingredient capsaicin, along with a clear, diagonally cut release liner for ease of application. The non-adhesive backing is marked with "Capsaicin 8%" for identification. Qutenza is specifically formulated to deliver high-concentration capsaicin directly to the skin, providing localized relief from pain by targeting overactive pain receptors.

The mechanism of action involves desensitization of TRPV1 receptors in the skin, effectively reducing pain signal transmission to the central nervous system.
